Program Officer, Economic Opportunity – Policy

Kevin is a Program Officer for the Steans Family Foundation. In his role, Kevin manages a Policy & Ecosystem grantmaking portfolio focused on Economic Opportunity while operating closely with the North Lawndale and North Chicago Teams to understand policy barriers and opportunities in those communities and develop strategies to address them.

Prior to joining the Steans Family Foundation, Kevin served as Director of Communications for The Institute for Political Innovation (IPI) where he played an integral role in executing the mission and vision of IPI to catalyze action, bringing Politics Industry Theory to further life and extending its reach to support the passage of ballot initiatives and legislation. Before his role at IPI, Kevin served as Chief of Staff at Skills for Chicagoland’s Future. Other past experiences include the political, government, and nonprofit spaces across a variety of issues areas including housing, youth development, and workforce development.

Kevin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Master of Arts in Public Policy Studies from the Harris School of Public Policy at The University of Chicago.

Kevin lives in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood with his wife, Annie. They are both avid cooks and bakers.
