Grants Manager
Anjali Alva is the Grants Manager for the Steans Family Foundation where she provides support to the Foundation’s grantees through the application process. In this role, Anjali’s responsibilities include providing guidance to grantees and supporting them through application and reporting to enable Foundation staff to conduct a thorough review of proposals and the use of grant funds.
Prior to her current position with the Steans Family Foundation, Anjali held Grants Officer positions at several foundations, where she was responsible for ensuring compliance with grants management best practices and expansion of the grantmaking portfolio by facilitating collaboration between like-minded organizations.

Anjali earned a B.A. from Benedictine University and received a M.A. in Urban Planning, with a focus on economic development, from the University of Illinois at Chicago’s College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs.
Anjali has been engaging in community activism in the western suburbs and also enjoys a good DIY project at home. Anjali lives in Downers Grove with her husband, their daughter and the family dog.
