Lea McMillan is an Operations Manager for the Steans Family Foundation, supporting foundation-wide operations through support to trustees and staff. Responsibilities include effective scheduling and meeting/event coordination, as well as executing operational tasks such as grants management implementation, board meeting administration, and other special projects.
Prior to joining the Steans Family Foundation, Lea spent several years at the Emerson Collective, contributing to the organization’s operational efficiency. Before her role in Business Operations, she served as the Executive Assistant to the Managing Director of Venture Capital, where she provided high-level administrative support, serving as a strategic partner in coordinating priorities for a fast-paced executive and his team. From Emerson, Lea went on to manage large-scale government projects at Accenture Federal Services in their Project Management Operations division.
Lea earned her Bachelor of Arts in International Relations with a minor in Spanish from Seattle University.
Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Lea is looking forward to discovering what Chicago has to offer—starting with diving into the food scene, attending baseball games and concerts, and taking her dog Oreo on city adventures.
