In his role as Program Associate, Xavior focuses on fostering economic opportunities in the North Lawndale community. This includes overseeing the development of various Community Investment Vehicles, corridor development strategies, real estate projects, and public art installations.
Prior to joining the Steans Family Foundation, Xavior was a Community Development Strategist for Emerald South Economic Development Collaborative and a Social Innovation Researcher for the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Xavior holds a B.A. in Media Arts and Design, Global Studies, and Cognitive Science from the University of Chicago. He is a sculptor and builds large machines, which are often sculptures themselves. He lives with his partner and loves spending time with his nephew, Elias.
